Today is p-day. We are waiting to see what the Ike (hurricane) is doing. It was headed right for us but we think that it will continue west. We will probably get some of the wind and rain because we are on the right side of it. Since we arrived we haven’t been out yet accept Sunday evening. We went to Orange on Monday. We had to go to the bank to close it out but we couldn’t because the rent check hadn’t come through yet. We attended both Family Home Evenings. Sister Baker gave us a gift and card. That was really sweet of her. We also brought home a carload of bread for the missionaries incase we get evacuated. Betty Cates gave us a stationary bike. It is really nice. Last evening the ward clerk and a member of the bishopric came by to help us with the records. The ward clerk in Orange hardly even talked to us let alone come to our apartment. This ward is so much more organized. Anyway they told me about a racetrack just a couple of blocks away so I went there this morning and walked a mile. It is part of an old high school but is so much easier on my feet. I think that I will do it every morning and let your dad us the stationary bike.
We send our love and hope that everything is okay. We hope that our grandchildren will do well this year in school. We miss you so much. The church is true. We see it everyday in our work and when we bear testimony. My knowledge has increased so much and I know that your dad’s has also. We love the Lord and we love this work.
