Dear Family,
Well we are slowing down to get a fresh breath of air; we have been doing the washing and then went to Wal Mart to get pictures done. We had one picture of the empty nester family home evening. It turned out good and the hostess gave a good lesson on adversity and why it comes, the X bishop Wyndel Odom put us on the spot and asked us how we went through the program of progressing with the condition of being handicapped mom said she was overburdened with all of the work etc, I was at a loss so just said that without my knowledge of finance we would have never made it. We explained how we had children go on missions and get educations, I wanted to explain how we have now 15 missions with us and children and companions. Now we hope we can have many missionaries who will work to build our Fathers Kingdom along with building good families. In the last two weeks we have read together the book of Ether in the book of Mormon and refreshed our memories of our blessings Note, in chapter 12 it tells how we will all be together at a TABEL AND A GREAT FEAST with our Father in Heaven. Would that be fun? Is thanksgiving coming?
In sacrament meeting our X bishop conducted and then turned over the time to our Stake President Newton to conduct and he announced that he had talked to the Bishop at 8.00 and said it was time for him to be released after 9 years, less one month, then sacrament meeting was held at 9.00 so he had but little warning, however, he has done a good job and he was relaxed and talking in the family home evening Monday evening, so we got the family evening started here in this ward, it is up and running and we think it will continue, because they all had a good time with a good dessert after the closing prayer.
Monday morning we spent the time getting a tire fixed it was flat after we drove into our yard from the temple 90 miles away one way we were blessed. Well when they got the car up they noted that we needed new brake pads after 8500 miles Mom likes to ride the brakes, so that was a $190 bill. We visited one women and she said she was busy and could not come to church. I asked her what she had to pay for her trailer home she said from the government agency for only 300 dollars. She has been in it for 12 years. Ya, FeMa it had a slide out front room. We had a good spiritual meeting with a lady named Carol and gave her the second lesson the plan of salvation and told her of the happiness it brings that being the plan of salvation. I read one book at home and it said that we should have total integrity and then the second virtue was to be creative and design in our minds our future opportunities. I showed the husband of JoAnna his name is Jack, a Chart of accounts how across the top of the page we have five circles for living, food, clothing, kids, and home then in the middle we have one circle with the checkbook for living say 1500 or 2500 pending our plans, then a circle with a checkbook/account reserved for our FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES then across the bottom a row of circles like a nickel size, with our priorities, or goals listed like a emergency fund, 10 K our home payoff account build up 25,K and let it work while you are working and it will pay off your home in 10 years, then 401 K funds and the big one our GOLDEN NEXT EGG for future missions and other joys we foresee. Our retirement fund should grow and one day pay say 2500 or 3000 per month to live on, but help food is getting so expensive, will we need to eat when we retire?
Well I guess we want to wish you all a good week, Ya all, is a common Texas verbiage, sometimes I cannot understand what the women or men are saying they have a sing song language Have a good week Dad mom is coming later. We went over to King wood and talked to the mission president Saturday and he said that since we have completed the work here in Orange he would possibly transfer us to SILSBEE Texas where there is a need for working with the less active that is coming on or about September 30, with the hope we will get our deposit back here in this complex. So we will fine tone the work here it is we told him 98 percent completed so we will have a new address, they are looking for a place for us to live. Keep in touch and hold our hands.
Love mom and dad
