9 August

Talked to Shannon a couple of days ago. She was at a friend’s home doing yoga. Her friend is the daughter of President and Sister Lake. What a small world. While we were talking Sister Lake called her daughter. It just came to Shannon while they were discussing the storm that was coming our way that we were in the same mission as her parents.

We called President Moldenhauer last evening to see if we could come and visit with he and his wife. We left this morning at eight so that we could also go to the temple. We took Betty Cates with us. She enjoyed the trip. Our visit was about finishing up in the area and moving to another area. They don’t move senior missionaries very much especially those who are only here for a year but we have met our goal of visiting everyone in the ward and we did a report and gave it to President Moldenhauer. We will be transferred the end of September to Silsbee. I don’t know how far it is from her but I think that we can come this way once in a while to see people that we need to keep in contact with. The President said that it would be okay.

We had a great session at the temple. We really needed to be there. We have only been twice since we arrived in Texas so it was good to fill the spirit and love that the temple gives. We went to lunch and had a great visit with Betty.
She came into the church about two years ago and is very strong. She knows what we will be doing so she will keep it a secret for a while. I don’t think that it will be wise to tell everyone that we will be transferred next month. We will wait for a while. However, when we arrived home we had a flat tire. It had a screw in it. DeWayne and the elders are working on it to see if they can get to the spare. That will be a challenge.
